Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Dashible, Inc. (“Dashible,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use The Plug, including nycplug.net and related applications and services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. The Service is intended for adults 21 and older.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account & contact details — your email address and, optionally, your name, when you sign in, claim a dispensary, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us.
- User content — reviews, ratings, photos, and comments you submit, including any information you choose to include in them.
- Messages — the contents of messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data — such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and interactions, collected through standard server logs and similar technology.
- Cookies & local storage — small data files used to keep you signed in, remember your age acknowledgement, and operate the Service. See “Cookies” below.
- Approximate location — if you grant permission, your device’s location is used to show dispensaries near you. You can decline or revoke this at any time in your browser or device settings; we then default to a general map center.
2. How we use information
- operate, maintain, and improve the Service and its features;
- authenticate you and keep your account and our Service secure;
- display dispensaries near you and provide search, maps, and directions;
- publish and moderate user content (including automated review of reviews and photos);
- send transactional messages (e.g., sign-in links, claim verifications) and, if you opt in, newsletters;
- respond to your inquiries and provide support;
- detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. Cookies & similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember your 21+ age acknowledgement, and we may use limited analytics to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality such as staying signed in.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers — vendors that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of your information. These currently include our hosting and database provider (Railway), our email provider (Resend), our content-moderation provider (DeepSeek), and mapping and business-data providers (such as Carto, Google, and similar services).
- Public content — reviews, ratings, photos, and the display name you choose are visible to others by design.
- Legal & safety — when we believe disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dashible, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
- Aggregated or de-identified data — which cannot reasonably identify you.
5. Third-party services
The Service integrates and links to third-party services (for example, maps, directions, dispensary websites, and official government resources). Those parties’ handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
6. Your choices & rights
- Access & correction — you may request a copy of, or correction to, personal information we hold about you.
- Deletion — you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Newsletter — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email; we use double opt-in, so we only email subscribers who confirm.
- Location — you can decline or revoke location access in your browser or device settings.
- State privacy rights — depending on where you live (for example, California and certain other U.S. states), you may have additional rights to access, delete, correct, or limit the use of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@dashible.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it. Public user content may remain visible until you remove it or request removal.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including hashed passwords and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21 (or under 13 in any case). If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. U.S. processing
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed here. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
